I’m Maria, and Treasured Toys is the product of a few years’ dreaming and imagining what it might be like to actually do what I love… to bring toys to the people, and to watch their children play!
I simply love toys. But not just any toys, I love toys (and games and puzzles) that are:
- beautiful to look at and play with
- made with long-lasting materials, with durability in mind
- open-ended – fostering imagination, creativity and free play
- sustainably and ethically produced and sourced – kind to the environment, and kind to the people manufacturing them
Caring for the environment in today’s world, among many other things, means shopping more consciously, and more sustainably. The pre-loved movement contributes to reduction in landfill, and drives changes in attitudes towards the waste and re-use of products.
Treasured Toys wouldn’t be true to its values, to do its part in contributing to conscious sustainable living, if it didn’t stock and sell pre-loved items alongside those sourced and sold new. I am always on the lookout for pre-loved items to stock on the website because I believe it is a cornerstone of the business, and fundamental to the concept for the shop.
